Meet the Commercial Funding Team:

James Palumbo established Commercial Funding Group in 2006 to provide competitive financing options, crisp execution and quality service for commercial clients to achieve their goals.
Licensed with the North Carolina Commissioner of Banks, and a Commercial Mortgage Professional member of the National Association of Mortgage Brokers, his entire professional career has been in the financial services industry. Jim has held regulatory, senior management and investment advisory positions at the NASD/NASAQ, Sallie Mae, Connie Lee and New York Life. He has also directed the development of family owned firms, participating in the creation of institutional investment vehicles, as well as ventures involving fixed income funds management, property development and real estate financing. He maintains NASD Series 7 and Series 66 securities licenses with Bedminster Financial Group, to facilitate Institutional RIA efforts with Ryan Labs Inc. The experience and perspective gained on the "buy side" and the "sell side”, has helped enable Jim to organize the Commercial Funding Group platform as well as to attract quality team players and a growing group of funding sources. A member of the CFA society of Washington DC, Jim received an MBA in Finance from Washington University in St. Louis (Olin Graduate School) and a B.A. in Economics from Lake Forest College. He has served as a Trustee of Lake Forest College, the Abruzzo-Molise Heritage Society and on other Boards. He has also served on Committees for Local Community Groups, The Special Olympics, Washington University and Cheshire Academy. Jim and his wife have three children and reside in Northern Virginia.

Haywood Nobles: Principal -

Mr. Nobles has over 25 years of progressive financial services industry experience. During his career, he has worked in a variety of business developement, relationship/alliance management and financial operations roles with Bank of America, AMBAC Financial Group, College Construction Loan Insurance Association and MGIC Investment Corporation.

Prior to Commercial Funding Group, LLC, Mr.Nobles was most recently a senior business development executive for a leading provider of multi-family financing and business process outsourcing solutions for investors in commercial real estate assets and commercial mortgage backed securities. Mr. Nobles holds a bachelor's of business administration degree in Finance from Howard University in Washington, D.C.

Jon Lucas: Associate -

Jon Lucas is the Maryland Branch Manager of Commercial Funding Group. He has been active in managing mortgage loan processing operations since 2005, with Envoy Mortgage and it's predecessor firm. Previously, Jon was a Property Controller for the Mills Corporation for ten years. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech. Jon's interests include mixed martial arts, weight training and real estate investing.

Monica Rose: Associate -

Monica Rose is the Broker Development Manager of Commercial Funding Group. In this role, Monica manages initial affiliate agreements, training and loan processing infrastructure coordination. She has been active in recruiting individuals, teams and branches since 2006, and has been producing in the mortgage industry since 1995 in both the retail and wholesale channels.
When not working, Monica enjoys yoga, hiking and practicing Spanish language skills.

Alex Palumbo: Associate -

Alex Palumbo is the Systems Support and Loan Processing Manager of Commercial Funding Group. Since 2002, Alex held a progression of marketing support positions with International Financial Institutions. While he was in high school, Alex spent his summers interning under leading wealth managers at Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch, in Reston, Virginia. He has also held property management positions for and is a member of Palumbo Properties LLC.

During high school, Alex expressed increasing interest in computer networking and over the course of his senior year, passed several Microsoft Certification exams, earning him the titles of Microsoft Certified Professional and Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician. While enrolled in a Network Administration course at Marshall Academy, Alex had hands on experience setting up and using the Windows 2003 Server Operating System, as well as and in conjunction with Windows 2000 and Windows XP networks.

A 2006 honors graduate of Langley High School in Mclean, VA, Alex is currently enrolled at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA.
